Banana, Hemp, and Oat, Chocolate Chip Biscuits

  • 1 egg

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • ½ cup soft brown sugar

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ¼ cup butter

  • 2 tsp vanilla essence

  • 1 cup flour

  • ½ cup of ECS Botanics Hemp Hearts

  • 1 ¼ cups whole oats

  • 1 tspn nutmeg

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 ¼ cups dark chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
  2. Grease 2 large baking trays
  3. In a large bowl, combine egg, bananas, both sugars, softened butter and vanilla and mix until well combined
  4. Add dry ingredients; gently fold in ECS Botanics Hemp Hearts, oats, flour, nutmeg, baking soda and salt until well combined
  5. Add the chocolate chips, stir in gently
  6. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours
  7. Roll heaped tablespoon mounds of batter into balls and place them evenly on the baking trays – leave 5cm of space between them
  8. Bake for 12mins, or until outer layer is cooked, do not over bake (these cookies are prone to drying out)
  9. Cool on a cooling rack, lined with baking paper, baking sheet or a tea towel
